firefox is raping my computer

Name: Anonymous 2006-03-15 19:57

Firefox is biting hard on my computer's ass.  And fucking it, too, apparently.  Sometimes I'll have nothing but some windows open with some text and some pictures, and firefox will go AHHHH I NEED TO RAPE SOMETHING and take up 88% of CPU and about 200MB of memory and I need to kill it.
Netscape is bloatware, and I don't even need to bother telling you why I won't go with IE.
I tried Operah for about 5 minutes, until I found that it had trouble formatting my favorite website.

Anybody got any firefox alternatives?

There's this thing called K-meleon on Sourceforge somewhere, seemed to be good.

>>4 would look like a troll, but it's actually true. Web sights should work in any fairly standards compilant browser (Gecko-based, Opera, Safari, KHTML-based).

I like the pillowfucking insult.
Anyway, I've opened a bunch of links in Opera using middle click, but they all open as blank pages.  starting a new page and trying to open Google, even typing urls into existing windows results in fucking NOTHING HAPPENING.  Firefox has fine time opening pages, as evidenced by me posting here.  What am I doing wrong?

firefoxmyths.com

Firefox is overrated. Use IE, it's just as safe.

That site has some valid points, but seems to mostly attack straw men. The author seems pretty clueless with regard to security though, his argument for ActiveX not being insecure basically is 'well, it's really just an easier way to run foreign code.' As if that's something you should be doing on the web.

I have some friends like that, they are rabid fans of commercial software. These kinds of people just cannot seem to let go of the 'if it's free it must be crap' idea.

That site, non-copy licenses, the DMCA, digital rights infringement, and treacherous computing are G·A·Y shit from faggot American and Japanese companies some queer Americans seem to masturbate to.

very funny.  I was able to work it for about 15 minutes, after which it stopped working.  Next day, it worked fine for about 10 minutes, then the same stuff.
