I'm trying to make a Gamer User Profile in Windows XP. I don't want unnecessary processes starting or anything from startup to run (including virus scanning). Are there any hacks or free programs that can manage this for me?

Stop trying to squeeze performance for your games and instead just shut down the Theme service and the rest of the shit to squeeze performance for your day-to-day operation.

There's really little else you can do other than that.
