Sharp S sound

Hi guys. Is there any way to get rid of the annoying sharp "S" sound? For example, I was watching a movie where they said "Soshi" the "shi" part sounded very annoying and sharp.. do you get what I mean? Picture slightly related

Could be a bad encode(low quality) or if it happens EVERYWHERE maybe you have really cheap integrated sound?

After all, it was a DVD I was watching so.. and it doesn't happen everywhere, but I do have a onboard soundcard. I'll maybe have to get a new soundcard then? Do you need a super 1337 computer for todays soundcards? I don't need 5.1 and such things..

"Sh" isn't a sibilant.

There are "reduce plosives" filters in some audio editors, they might do this.

No, you need a real audio editor (or cooledit). It's too slow to run realtime, I think.
