If you use GIMP, you're a nerd primae facie.

BTW, you're trying too hard.

Seconded. Idiocy factor records have been broken here.

From your post I deduce you are a Photoshop ""artist"" thus you equally hate Paint Shop Pro and just want to draw arts and save it to your Internet so you can shot web with it later.

P.S.: Think of files as "picture frames", so you don't get confused with nerdy terms.

Either reinstall the versions of gimp and gtk+ you have now, or upgrade to the newest versions.  If it's freezing up now, your only choice other than these is to stop using gimp.

I don't care what raster software someone uses, but I'm stating the obvious truth. Professionals don't use gimp, and most kids go pirate photoshop. Only the OSS bunch are really into GIMP.

BTW, you're also trying too hard.

Well, I'm a "professional", and I use Paint Shop Pro, and one of my colleagues is using GIMP. We're making a living in an IT company and I had to adapt a portal's theme for a corporation. I'm not an artist, but a programmer, so I can't draw but I can edit, and I'm more used to lower level terms and thinking of images as arrays of pixels I do stuff to, not "paintings" with "strokes". Software like Paint Shop Pro is easier to understand and do stuff for me, not to mention way cheaper for the company. Somebody here is retouching the company profile pictures with the GIMP just because she can, it's free, and she's already running Linux. We both get paid for this, so we are "professionals". So what?

I never said anything about PSP, mate. You came up with that yourself.

And by professional, I meant professional artist. Don't be dense.

PSP is better than the GIMP.
