George Pal was doing similar things as early as the 1930s. You can hardly say they took inspiration from Taijin Takeuchi. There's also the Flatword short mentioned in the article itself that's very similar. I have to agree that all the craft goes down the drain with the amount of post-processing they put into it. I thought the backgrounds were CG when I first watched the add. The whole process is completely buried after the compositing guys had their go at it. A shame.

7 million for a 2 minute CM works to around 300 million for a full feature, so... holly fuck this is so stupidly expensive.

Did anyone else here watch the Madoka camrip? First time I can honestly say a shaft title has great animation all around, not just nice composition, framing and editing. The film really looks apart, besides the Inu Curry goodness.

Was the camrip watchable?

Name: Anonymous 2013-11-13 5:51

>>87

Other than missing two corners of the screen, yes.  Much better than the Eva Q camrip, for example.

The movie is long ?

GHow many time for it ?

Shaft can handle two hours movie of full animation ?

Name: Anonymous 2013-11-13 14:48

Shaft was hiring quite alot of staff in the last month.

They were looking for a bunch of in-between animators, production staff and a new director of photography. I guess they are using some Madoka and Monogatari money to increase the in-house capacities.

CGI

Of all the evils of Satan, it had to be the greatest one.

Looks like they're going for the Pixar crowd.

Name: Anonymous 2013-11-14 11:41

Why is KnK so fucking terrible?

Name: Anonymous 2013-11-14 17:02

>>99

I couldn't get past the first 5 minutes.

The animation is good and all but jesus christ, what a boredom fest

Name: Anonymous 2013-11-14 17:07

>>99
I don't see how that's relevant to the animation thread.

Name: Anonymous 2013-11-14 20:46

What would you do when there is no Kigami ep in KnK?

Name: Anonymous 2013-11-14 21:59

nothing

Name: Anonymous 2013-11-15 0:19

Good action in Kill la Kill #7. I wonder why Tanaka's part was uncredited though.

Nothing because I don't care about Kyoani's soulless factory produced fake "animation".

Drink myself out of misery because of sakuga fall being such a fucking lie.

Can we stop talking about KlK already? There's absolutely nothing remarkable about it in terms of animation, unless you think every single "sakuga" scene where something more than mouths move is remarkable in any way whatsoever. You can find more sakuga in a minute of Yozakura Quartet #6 than the entirety of that cheap trainwreck of stills.

would be crazy if all city scenes will look like the scenes in the CMs and PVs.

cheap trainwreck of stills
You'd know that's no longer the case had you watched the latest few episodes.

Name: Anonymous 2013-11-15 8:13

>>112
Yeah, it finally reached generic anime level of animation from Inferno Cop tier. Wow! Ganbatte Trigger!! You can do it!

Name: Anonymous 2013-11-15 8:24

7 was really good, but the latest few episodes? 6 was lame as fuck and 5 had one very good acene.

I made character-desigs for this GitS攻殻機動隊ARISE CM, Daizen Komatsudaさんdid the final designs, he was also the director

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=devjgFknpUQ&feature=youtu.be

Name: Anonymous 2013-11-15 11:14

Is there a reason why he writes wannabe Japanese?

And he only did the character designs of the three enemies - nothing else.

nothing to さすが here.

Name: Anonymous 2013-11-15 12:12

>>188
I don't think that's meant to be wannabe japanese.
He is just trying to be respectful to Komatsuda by writing さん.

But I agree, it's not a sakuga related post.
Although, you don't need to hate that much.

I've seen worst things posted here.
