Are we under an /a/ invasion?

Downloaded the Naruto SD finale for fun since it's supposed to be a Sessha/Kouda episode. There was some really cool animation in the first half of the episode, good action and effects animation. I wonder who were the animators for that episode?

>>924

If you still have the episode, post a screenshot with the end credits. To find where the animators are in the credits, look for 原画.

Animator joke after some well-animated cuts, after that scene there was some nice fight choreography

I thought this guy was Titmouse's animator but seems like he's an illustrator, and he does animation for fun.

The first episode of Steins;Gate was... bad. Mediocre, more aptly put. The time-stop scene was okay. But I cannot stand the fucking bloom and gray filter. Should I expect any sakuga? The storyboarding was very good but I'd expect nothing less from Hamasaki Hiroshi.

>>928
Nah, it's nothing special animation-wise. Some decent cuts from Hiroshi Tomioka at best, if I'm not mistaken.

I think there was one bit in episode 11 or 12 that impressed me but other than that S;G is mostly average TV anime.

>>927
Pretty cool stuff there.

It's White Fox so there's really nothing special if we're talking about actual movement. Some action here and there, plus that bit where Okabe runs back to the apartment. I'd say their most well animated series is still Tears to Tiara.

NarutoSD #51 KA: Hiroyuki Yamashita, Eiji Komatsu, Kengo Matsumoto, Chiyuki Tanaka, Tatsuo Yamada

Yamashita's participation explains the bits of good fight choreography, I dare say he's the best at that among the younger generation of animators.

>>932
How old is he?

Name: Anonymous 2013-03-26 11:49

>>933
He started off in 2004 and going by his picture it's safe to say he's in his 30s. Not that young, bit I suppose anyone under 40 can be considered to be "young".

>>933
>>934
I think he is about 3 or 4 years old than Shingo Yamashita

Name: Anonymous 2013-03-26 12:11

>>932
Is there any other good action animator besides Hiroyuki Yamashita on that list? I'm sure Yamashita did some of the fighting scenes, but I find it hard to believe he did all the impressive stuff. The episode really had quite a lot of well animated bits, but I can't recognize any other name on that list.

Just going by the few names that I recognize;

Chiyuki Tanaka

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dfdklq7imYQ
Tatsuo Yamada

Kengo Matsumoto has shown up in some of the well-animated Naruto episodes but I don't know if he's good.

Name: Anonymous 2013-03-26 12:33

For an reference
Kengo Matsumoto did the Darui scene at the beginning of Shippuden #303

Name: Anonymous 2013-03-26 12:35

>>937
Chiyuki Tanaka also did Kyuubi stuff at end of Shippuden#245

He should come back to normal animation. The guy guy clearly has a spark left in him. Go work with Obari on something.

Not Arasan, haha no.
Hideki Tamura is an animator from the 80s era, the era Arasan tries to copy. Tamura was a very good animator following the Kanada style. But around 1989/1990 Tamura stopped doing animation and went to work on video games or something and never came back
He returned in 2012 for those Combattler animations, which is for a Pachinko game.

I said Obari because on the sakuga wiki it mentions Obari was influenced by Tamura.

Ex of Hideki Tamura's work from the 80s:

Hiroyuki Imaishi is also a fan oh his animation.

Taking a peek at Chuu2Koi's production reveals that the resolution of KyoAni's lineart is higher than we thought http://i.imgur.com/bJ2rUUJ.jpg

Nice effects. I've never been a fan of character animation done in the Kanada style, but the effects are really cool. What do you call those frames that just flash momentarily whenever there's some significant explosion or action depicted? Something like this: http://i.imgur.com/IJcY8As.jpg

>>949
Getting closer to full HD, nice.

Name: Anonymous 2013-03-26 20:40

The animation in that video actually moves, so it's hard to compare it to arasan.

What's the staff on Tamako Market #12?
Also, any news on KyoAni's new series?

Why are you guys posting that nicoviewer shit and not the nico nico link directly? Do you get revenue for clicks or what? It's annoying as fuck. I still have to go to nico and watch it anyway because that crap is either slow as fuck or doesn't work altogether.

Name: Anonymous 2013-03-27 7:15

>>950
I know of the thing you speak about, I don't think its something unique to Kanada style animators, but it is sort of a signature of the style. I'm sure there's a word for it but I don't know.

By the way guys, should we migrate back to /anime/?
Since there is a Captcha now.

Name: Anonymous 2013-03-27 7:24

>>954
Calm down, some people might not have Nico Nico accounts so nicoviewer lets them view it without having to register. That's all there is to it. Not sure why you're having problems with nicoviewer since it works fine for me.
