Cartoons that are depressing

What cartoons make you say "Holy crap that's depressing?"

Noozles: Adventures in Koalawalla Land had a depressing ending.

I thought everyone died in Care Bears the Movie II until I realized I had forgotten the ending.

The episode of Futurama with Fry's dog. If you didn't cry at the end of that episode then you do not have a soul.

MTV's The MAXX

Noozles was so amazing. Thanks for reminding me.

Wasn't Lil' Bits supposed to be depressing? I remember some sort of natural disaster had happened or something? Gah. You can tell I'm really straining here. *steamsteamlol*

Neon Genesis Evangelion lol! 8D

Seriously though, Frankensteins monster was pretty sad. It was the version where roughly 95 % of the cast died in one way or another. Personally, I like how the Doctor killed himself, put a shotgun in his mouth and blew it. :p Right in front of his daughter.

Wait, what? Noozles? Care Bears the movie? Lil' bits? Aren't childrens cartoons supposed to be happy and colorful? MY MIND IS BLOWN.

3-South made me cry, I mean, who wouldn't cry because Todd stuck tampons up his nose.

Final Episode was The Big Scare, earthquake busted up the town somethin' fierce, and you're thinking of the wrong show. The Littles, not Littl' Bits. The other one is about some sprite children in a forest. SUPERMEMORY HOOOOOO

If animated movies count, I would definately have to say X was one of the most terribly depressing endings to a movie of all time.

Grave of the Fireflies

Cat Dog. It's so fucking depressing to watch this cartoon.

There was some sticky a few days ago about the last episode of David the Gnome(?). At least 300 posts of OMG FUCKING DEPRESSING MY CHILDHOOD IS RUINED, so I guess it counts as sad.

Adventures of Unico. The Ending made me sad when I was 8, and I watched it at 18. I still cried.

Watching Totally Spies makes me fucking cry, therefor Jetix fails.

Name: Anonymous 2005-11-24 16:13

The last episode of David the Gnome could make Macho Man Randy Savage shed a single tear.

There were two of them.

In one Unico is involved with this guy name Toby, who's in a blue bug costume. I think he ends up working for some evil witch who turns people into material to build a castle or some shit with. There's a girl who morphs into a cat and back (Katie) who is Unico's comrade.

The other one has Unico travelling to some castle through a creepy haunted forest at the end, that's all I can remember.

Ano roku go was depressing. I cried when that whale like thing died and when the big "shark dog" or whatever cried because Dr. Zorndike died and he considered him something like his father.

I agree. I don't know why they keep letting these existentialist/absurdist bipolars make children's cartoons.

The cliffhanger left at the end of Shadow Raiders/War Planets/whatever was absolutely depressing. Despite all the heroic efforts of the war against the Beast, the damn thing is still at large dovouring entire planets like nothing.

My god yes. I remember I was getting into anime after I got out of highschool, and had run across Unico at the local video rental. (This was 1988, mind you.) So I'm sitting there watching it with my sister who was like three at the time, and at the end she turns to me and says, "The North Wind took Unico away..?" AND BURST INTO TEARS.

I felt like such a shit for renting it. T_T

It's really not a cartoon but...Dinosaurs had a depressing ending. Effective, but depressing...

Don't change these.
