Wheel of Time

I've never read any of these before. Recently I tried reading the 10th book, just to see if it might be worth getting all the other ones. I have 9 and 10. I made it about 75 pages into the book and decided I couldn't take any more. It was extremely bogged down is crap gossip and hundreds of secret rivalries between a bunch of extremely ninny "sisters" and their range of colours. It was like trying to read terrible LOTR fanfiction of a 65 year old women.

I can't even describe it correctly. Boring as hell is a good start I think.

So, is the entire series like this or did the author simply get worse and more convoluted with each new book until his death?

Who the hell starts a series on the tenth book? This notion is very upsetting to me.

But it's pretty much like that. Give book 9 a shot, it's got different people sitting on their asses in the woods instead of... wherever they are in book 10. Overall I did enjoy the series though. There's adventures too.

No one is going to like the Wheel of Time if they start with the Crossroads of Twilight. Hell, I don't like it, and I'm fond of the series.

Check out your local library for the Eye of the World and the Great Hunt. I'd say you can bail if those won't grab you.

I really liked the first one. The second one was good too. After the third one I only kept reading to find out what happens. And then the author died before he could finish the series. What a rip-off.

I work at a Barnes and Noble in Charleston, SC.  RJ/RJ's assistant special ordered 5 to 10 books a week.

Some guy I know through a friend is apparently the son of RJ's 'fact checker'.

That sounds reliable.

What I mean by that is he's better friends with my friend than he is with me.  So I'm not sure if "fact checker" is the actual job title.

The rest of the series is still going to be released.  Jordan left comprehensive notes and another author has been hired to write the remaining books.  His name escape me, unfortunately.  Look it up on Wikipedia if you care.

I actually read the ninth book of the Dresden files before starting the series.  It wasn't on purpose, but still.

Brandon Sanderson.
He quickly became one of my favorite authors after reading a few of his books.

Don't change these.
