House of Leaves

I've been looking at this book, wondering or not if I should get it, so I need you to tell me about the book!

Does it have fantasy elements to it?  Or is it a realistic who-done-it type book?

Should I read the damn thing?  I've been jonesing for a nice mystery novel recently.

My friend read it, and was suitably impressed.  My understanding is that it's essentially a horror novel with postmodern/metafictional components (it fucks with the typeset and page layout to psychologically fuck with the reader.)  That's all I've got.

ANY MORE OPINIONS ON THIS BOOK?!

The typeset doesn't fuck with the reader at all, it's just to differentiate between the two narrators. And I don't think page layout could fuck with anyone ("ooh there's only 2 words on this page, scary!"), it just adds to the experience.
