This author intrigues me. I've read a short story of his and liked it. Anyone read any of his novels? And, if so, should I proceed?

I suggest pressing the "All threads" button and looking through those whopping 6 pages of threads to find the 3 other Murakami threads people have already made. Shit sux, sage!

Murakami was one of the first threads on this board.

His novels are intriguing in the way David Lynch's movies are intriguing. That is, they are all very surreal and very similar. I recommend Sputnik Sweetheart.

I personally liked Kafka on the Shore the best. But I'd recommend some of his other works first. The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles is good.

Murakami deserves props for making sixteen year old Japanese girls a literary device.

As well as fat nymphos in odd pink outfits.

Incidentally, his new short story collection came out the 29th.

Don't change these.
