Seriously, is there more to it?

I like it, a bit more philisophical than most light reads ive read. I like the new twists on fantasy worlds, and the parts were roran leads the villagers out of carvahall are a good human contrast to the odd things that happen to eragon.

funny how people bitch about this and starwars, yet i have never seen anyone talk much about how starwars stole plenty from dune.

Or how the sword of shannara completely butchered the Lord of the Rings.

But if I had to choose, I'd somewhat aggree with >>5. People only care about what did it best; Eragon < Star Wars, and on the GENERAL CONCENSUS, Star Wars > Dune. Still, most Dune-lovers are either too careless or two wise to whine about Star Wars' (sorta) plagiarism. From my perspective, many Dune fans are also Star Wars fans anyway.

I'm reading Eragon right now. The writing is horrible and I think I'm going to need a better book to read after I finish both Inheritence novels.
