I don't understand why some people are disappointed by the rotoscoped piano scene.

I think there is one exception in rotoscoping, wich is scenes of people playing music instruments.

If you want to animate people playing piano, you have to be able to play the piano and learning piano can't be done on the tight production schedule of an anime.
