I am a Hong Kong people
I woukd want to know how people in USA think about Japanese anime
For USA , as she has their own well evolved animation industry, will people there have a more positive view on Japanese anime.
I mean, if your own country produces lots of comics/cartoons, u will not smear others products, right??
I really come from HK,if u think I am a troll, u can talk to me with Chinese

It's looked down on by most people, actually.
You get grouped in with "losers" or "nerds" and are generally made fun of for watching it.
Many teens who watch anime hide it from everyone else but their friends.

Is correct. Its just as bad as liking comic books. Though those lately have earned a little less scorn due to hollywood making lots of movies about them.
It's a guilty pleasure to be done mostly in private, with the exception of some friends, or at least that's how most people I know go about doing that. It's not something to be openly broadcast, that's for sure.
compared to most women, animated girls are hot. seriously, would you rather fuck a cartoon 10 or a real fat slob 2? i'd take my right hand, some lube, and the cartoon over any disease ridden obese hooker any day of the week.

I live near in the San Francisco bay area, lots of asian-americans here, so as a guy other guys for the most part don't care if I read manga, although I try to keep the power level as low as possible.
It also probably helps that I know enough Japanese to read the much smaller Japanese bound volumes, which are not only easier to hide but unless they also happen to know the language suddenly makes me look like some kind of multiculural guy.

personally, I like most anime, and I'm not afraid to admit it to people, especially due to the fact no one really cares what you're in to where I live. honestly, the way people look at anime (or any thing for that mater) depends on where you live in the country. what's praised in one state, is looked down upon in others.
