Do you think I'll ever find a hermes?

Been wondering about that too.

So far, no.

the "moral" of densha otoko was basically that the guy could keep at his escapist lifestyle and still find a super-hot woman. since the show's just entertainment that's fine and all but I do hope not too many otaku drew real life conclusions from that. if you're living your life in such a way and are not willing to change yourself, like densha did not want to change, then chances you'll hook up with a dream woman are in fact pretty miniscule.

I thought it was that you shouldn't pretend to be something you're not.

speaking of densha otoko, does anyone know if anyone actually ever scanlated the last volume of it?

I saw the movie, I didnt care so much for the plot as much as just being able to see stuff in Japan.   For us type of anti-social poeple, finding the best fitting girl is most difficult. dont get me wrong, there is 1: the fictional 'perfect' girl for every guy, and then 2: the Real girl who is the best match for the guy, and vice versa. There is no question that 2 is out there, howver, the unsurrmountable problem is finding ASSOCIATION. The two may be perfect for each other, but it means nothing if they have never even met in their lives, if they live in seperate continets, or across nation w/ absolutely no means of association. For the 2 people to hook up requires some sort of (divine) 3rd party to create the association. I say divine not in any religious way, but like.. some 3rd party. In watching densha otoko movie, for example, since the story is about them, the viewer becomes the 3rd party somewhat... make sense?  etc.

densha means train, and otoko means man. so, you have effectively called that man a train. dumb ass. gtfb2 Japanese class.

BTW if you were less of a homo you'd know that they referred to him as just "Densha" during the whole series.
