Are there any other anime that explore the wired or technology?

Search for cyberpunk anime

cyberpunk anime is chidlish bullshit.

I asked for specific recommendations of Lainlike stuff because I trust your opinion, not a generic label. Tons of bullshit anime is released, of course some of it is going to be called cyberpunk.

Besides that, I didn't say cyberpunk. I said Lainlike. Lain isn't cyberpunk.

Lain is _good_ cyberpunk, not that shit from the crappy pen-and-paper RPG for 10-year-olds. Too many people think that cyberpunk means strapping some wires to some fuckhead Action Hero and calling it a day.

Is there any other _good_ cyberpunk, then?

I've been through http://anime.mikomi.org/by-key/Cyberpunk numerous times, and to be honest: it all looks like kiddie bullshit with cyberpunk art direction. I liked Lain because it did not once degrade into action brawl/gun porn, nor did it have a franchise to embellish with an endless number of meaningless episodes to fill up its contract.

Is there anything that tells an intelligent story that has realistic, mature characters? Or should I just see Lain again and read a book?
