The idea behind Hentai is not so much the porn aspect of it, it's the sarcastic spoof aspect. Consider this: What is more ironic then objectifying perfect sexual situations that don't exist? It's made with the intent of being goofy and completely unrealistic, because seeking perfection is an unrealistic concept. By making it less and less realistic they believe they are coming closer to perfection. It's similar to the idea behind surrealist artists. They believe that trying to create a realistic three dimensional scene or object in an unrealistic two dimensional space is a lie, and so they search for truth by creating unrealistic scenes. Also, through the use of Hentai, you can create legal explicit sexual scenarios that would otherwise be illegal to watch. This includes scenes of rape, pedophilia, whatever. It's a legal way for extreme perverts to get their rocks off.

This is only because hentai technology has not improved at the rate of normal anime, and everything seems less realistic because of it. Writers also feel they can do whatever they want without fear of going to hell or being labelled by Christian parent groups. Basically, anything that can be thought of can be drawn, and in Japan there's a supportive industry for this freeform imagination, whether it strives to be more realistic or less realistic.

There is something funny about sexuality. I'm not sure how, or why, but it just is. Seeing a naked girl, an idealized naked girl, getting taken advantage of to a ridiculous extreme, then having no real consequence besides embarassment and providing a sense of temporary satisfaction for the male, along with being able to manipulate the female subject in any number of creative ways and get away with it, turns the effort into something that is part lust, part greed, and part silliness.
