It's made with the intent of being goofy and completely unrealistic, because seeking perfection is an unrealistic concept. By making it less and less realistic they believe they are coming closer to perfection. It's similar to the idea behind surrealist artists. They believe that trying to create a realistic three dimensional scene or object in an unrealistic two dimensional space is a lie, and so they search for truth by creating unrealistic scenes. Also, through the use of Hentai, you can create legal explicit sexual scenarios that would otherwise be illegal to watch. This includes scenes of rape, pedophilia, whatever. It's a legal way for extreme perverts to get their rocks off.
