Anime is anime. Pokémon is Pokémon because the guys chose to write the title that way and it's the title of a product, not a regular word.

I'm normally the last one to protest anyone calling Americans stupid, but the Japanese can't pronounce English any better than the Americans can pronounce Japanese. So whatever. And "anime" has been the accepted romaji for a long time.
I have never seen any カタカナ words spelled in roomaji with accents. So, although animé is the correct pronunciation, the accepted spelling for アニメ is anime.
Just use "anime", which is the correct romaji form. If you were Spanish or knew the language, you wouldn't have any problems reading romaji.
But don't fucking change words to how they read in English, just like you don't change Mexican "amigo" into "ahmeegoh", and we don't change "Bill Gates" into "Bil Gueits".
Q: What the hell is onime?
A: Chinese porn cartoons.
Q: ... Mango?
A: Something like normal comic books, but in that weird Chinese cartoons style.
Q: But I've heard that onime is made in Japan...
A: That's a lie; it's well known that onime is made by Chinese prisoners. It's only ordered by Japan.
Q: Why in onime every character has such weird big eyes? Is it a Japanese inferiority complex?
A: Sure. Every nation has things to feel shy of.
Q: Where did onime came from?
A: Really, onime history has its roots in times long ago. When first Europeans came to Japan they noticed that every character had big eyes. After that the Soviet scientists had invented animation and Japanese masters started to draw their first works. It's considered that first full-length film (still drawn in Japan) is the Dragonball movie. After that, when Dragonball production became serial it were moved to China to keep the ecological balance.
Q: Why onime is so popular in Japan?
A: Because of that big eyes and breasts, of course. The Japanese are very shy because of their eyes size and seeking consolation in watching onime where almost every Japanese is drawn with big ones. Just only very bad guys get small so they'll feel offensive.
Q: And why it's so popular outside of Japan?
A: After moving all facilities to China most cartoons started to look like porn because of the production techniques violation.
