SDF also has IRC and Usenet once you sign up, and they're public internet hosts with real IP addresses so you don't have to suffer the humiliation of spending six hours trying to get nntpd working only to find out that your dynamic IP address makes it impossible.

IRC? People still use that?

Name: VIPPER 2013-08-11 6:08

I can't access SDF, I'm getting the 500 error. Is this my problem or is it down?

Tons of people use IRC. It's much easier to protect from jewish hands than skype, etc.

telnet://digitaldistortionbbs.com
Pretty cool. http://i4.minus.com/iRmfBAXjZkIA9.png It asks you for your full name/location on the guest account. I doubt the telnet protocol is safe from NSA snooping.

Pretty standard for a synchronet setup, though it seems you don't have IBM style terminal support.

Name: VIPPER 2013-11-30 3:24

IBM style terminal support.
I cannot remember if PuTTY supports that or not. I usually only use it to connect to the server that runs irssi when I do my IRC'ing, which is pretty rare nowadays.

The oldest Blender wiki:

http://www.c2.com/cgi/wiki/wiki?BlenderWiki
"A lot has changed since this page was started... This may be considered off topic for the c2.com wiki, but this page has survived for almost 2 years (as of Jan 2003), so I don't think this will be a problem."

Also it was never saved in the Web Archive until this post.
(1/6 of century after its creation.)
