Perhaps you've heard of the Densha Otoko, or Train Man. A love story in Japan where the main character was a frequenter of 2chan's /vip/ and sought their advice regarding a woman. Molester Man is a similar story, taking place in 2004, also of a guy who spent most of his life on 2chan's /vip/ and used their advice to woo a woman he fell in love with. They both became very popular stories, had manga and movie adaptations, etc.
The Molester Man manga was just recently translated into English and /a/ and /jp/ were all over it.

Yeah, I read through some of the original 2ch posts. The manga follows the story very closely and ends pretty much exactly the same. He gets the girl and is very happy.
