4chan has lately become too popular, and with popularity comes a whole horde of kids looking to be cool, wearing Fawkes masks, making death threats in the name of Anonymous on YouTube, protesting against racism, pedophilia and generally the diversity that makes 4chan 4chan, posting Minecraft servers, and generally being too immature even by /b/ standards.
However, it is actually stated in 4chans rules, that 4chan is a site for people 18 years old or above, and that minors must leave immediately.
My strategy is that we simply assume that everyone on 4chan is 18 years old, and act accordingly. This means lots and lots of graphic cybersex on /b/, sometimes where one party roleplays a little 10 year old boy who loves to seduce his dad or an older man into the best sex ever.
4chans rules frees us from any legal responsibility if a boy would become aroused by it and start to jerk off in the middle of school, or want to have cybersex with us, and nobody has the right to whine about it either (unless they've somehow outlawed pedo stories). Just don't be tempted to post CP images in these threads, and we'll be able to chemo away any kids, and make 4chan unpopular again.
The solution is simple. Wordfilter every word on every board to DEVELOPERS. For five months. Then, without announcing anything, remove the wordfilter. By then, all of the children will have moved on to some other imageboard, or facebook, or whatever.

When I visit /b/ I can't follow any thread. The main page is being hit with too many updates. Threads time out and expire in minutes. All I can see is a bunch of random stupid attempts at humor, which disappear in an instant.

This is not only the stupidest idea, it is also the best. If there is a "hidden board" everyone will find out pretty much immediately. So rather than get a hidden board for the good posters, why not just make a "secret board" that all the jackasses will feel hip or 1337 or whatever the fuck is trendy these days for knowing about and using, thus taking them away from all the other boards.

I'm 19 and I went to /b/ first when I was 17. I usually never reply or start a thread, I just watch epic things happen. Nothing wrong with that.

Because you group yourself into that same mentality. The bullshit that >>34 posted are myths that have permeated throughout the centuries (in Internet equivalent time) and are presented as indisputable "facts". Sort of like the bible. Encyclopedia Dramatica became 4chan's "unofficial bible", and it shows its reliability.
The only thing I agree with is that lack of moderation and explosive popularity have degenerated the quality of the site to the level that it is today. Being a victim of its own success and heavy lack of moderation eventually brought it down. The only part of the site that can be realistically salvaged is world4ch (these textboards), hosted on a completely separated site, completely de-merged from 4chan, and properly moderated ("proper" in this case meaning not zealously and not irrationally), which action will most likely never be taken upon to do so.
