So if most of /b/ is ready to create chaos then why do I see no coverage of it on the news? Why do I not hear the walls of the chans coated with boasts of thievery, malicious acts against the government, or at least the spread of enlightenment("tagging", spreading of flyers, hacked accounts, ect) and fucking with peoples facebooks calling them cunts and sluts isn't very sinister is it??

The simple fact is that the sort of person that spends all day on the computer is not likely to actually go out and do anything.
4chan feels like a giant collective of anonymous individuals who have a massive shared power amongst them, but once everybody meets in real life, you have to get to grips with the fact that the userbase is so spatially distributed that at best you'll only ever get a hundred users together at any one time, and these 100 individuals will be mostly obese teenagers, which, short of being a force capable of effecting massive social change, would scarcely be able to close down the local supermarket for an entire afternoon before being escorted from the premises, without resistence, by a single female 40 year old security guard who is the mother of one of the 4chan users in attendance at the gathering.

I lurk all the time and I go out at night and cause mayhem. I steal what I want from unsuspecting citizens. I just dont understand why people troll about being anti government.

Because the one time someone even joked about it they got slapped with Don't Mess With Football and stuck in jail, for just joking around with no intent.
Anontalk is down and i think for good (party time). 4chan does occasionally make it to the news but since this burst of "popularity" as the underworld of the internet, /b/ has been overrun by spam and "newfags". Although I dont like this term, it is a good one. If you want to know how 4chan has been on the news, just lurk the 4chan page on ED.
