SNOUTS, ears, tongues, tendons and blood vessels - all are legitimate ingredients in a respectable meat pie. But the definition of meat stretches even further.
Under the Food Standards Code, a meat pie can just as easily be made from goat, buffalo, hare or camel (snout included) as beef or lamb - as long as the animal has been farmed. The only "meat" ingredients prohibited from swimming in the gravy are foetuses and offal (unless these are clearly labelled).
