That's the "Cardcaptors" version you're using.
The CCS version is Li Siaoran. You're right though that Xiaolan would be more accurate if it were direct from Chinese, but remember that it's been rendered into Japanese first and then Romanised according to Romaji rules rather than Pinyin.
