About the internet.

I was just wondering, how big is the internet? Where is it stored, on like a giant computer or something? which country owns it?

but seriously, if you want to know what holds the wwweb together atleast..... look to the dns root servers

the internet is a large generalization, its a collection of networked servers using myriad protocols

what allows the internet to work is the the addressing system... and the lookup of those addresses mapped back to individual machines on various networks

there are various owners, look at root-servers.org

We all own it. That's like saying, out of the neighbors who live in this street, who owns the road?

or saying "of all the people who are gazing into the clouds, who owns the sky?"
