Just finished seeing this movie --- I thought it was incredibly boring, dull; overrated and barely watchable.
I can see there's some good acting; particularly from Rooney Mara; but I can't seem to understand how anyone enjoyed this movie.
The movie starts off with a bizarre music video; which doesn't match the tone or setting of the movie at all, it's like a james bond intro.
Next up, the first 40 minutes - this is probably the most boring piece of cinema I've ever witnessed. Scenes just keep dragging on and on and there's just too much unnecessary and irrelevant detail that we are flooded with.
The rape scenes and lizbeth in general feel like a minor character in the movie. Nothing in the movie seems to be really important or interesting to any of the characters. The only enjoyable scenes for me were 1) lizbeth taking revenge on the lawyer and 2) bike chase to exploding car 3) train scenes
The movie seems to have multiple endings and just keeps on going, they could have just stopped 5-10 minutes after the car explodes.
Anyway, seems like too literal a translation of a book.
