Celeb relationships illegal?

Name: Anonymous 2010-12-21 19:42

Why is a celebrity's romantic interest always another celebrity?  Can't he/she have an average guy/gal relationship?  Or is this illegal?  Did Hollywood pass a bill saying average people can't date celebs because they have AIDS or something?

A lot of less-major stars (IE not the Tom Cruise's or Angelina Jolies or Brad Pitts) date "civilians."  I think a lot of the A-listers date other actors/actresses because they've got something in common, they both know what it's like to have their lives in the public spotlight, they both know what it's like to be told they suck, and they both know what it's like to have a shitload of money.  Also; they probably meet each other on a movie, fall in love with each other's characters, and then divorce when they figure out that the character =/= the person

Haha, so it's not AIDS then?

Of course an actor can play the most awesomest character in the world (ie Jake Gyllenhal as Donnie Darko) but that doesn't mean someone like Taylor Swift will give a crap in the end because she's so into her music. XD

I think big name entertainment franchises in general are all falling into the bad habit of trying to please EVERYONE instead of just being happy catering to their niche markets. Plus I think new technology is partly to blame too because it becomes more about cutting edge special effects. I think movie technology will probably level out at some point and it will once again be about what you do with things than how new and fancy they are.

They need better writers.  I can't remember the last time I was surprised by the ending of a Trek, or when the "delemma" presented wasn't something that a five year old child couldn't figure out in five minutes.  BUt some content in those shows, and people will watch.  Trek is pretty much the scifi equivelent on McDonalds -- nothing worth bothering with.

Don't change these.
