dvds on cdr

I have a movie on my comp that is 800meg.  Is there any program i could use to shrink it down so i can watch it on my dvd player rather than my pc?  I dont have a dvd burner so it will have to be on a cdr.

Yes, long ago I used to use nero to a VCDs (Video CDs). They don't hold as much as a DVD, but most DVD players afaik can play them.
