bicentennial Man

Hi 4chan.org. Earlier today I finished watching the Movie Bicentennial Man(1999) Directed by Chris Columbus and Wrote by Isaac Asimov. The movie follows the 'life' and times of the lead character, an android Known as Andrew Martin (Robin Williams). In the beginning of the film, the character 'Sir' Richard Martin (Sam Neill) shows Andrew his quarters, which turns out to be a cluttered basement. The next day Andrew cleans up the basement and as he is throwing out old items he decides to keep a phonograph made by the Victor Talking Machine Company in Camden, NJ. He uses the phonograph to listen to opera which fascinates him. Through out different parts of the movie I began to notice the phonograph in different rooms; most noticeably by Andrews and his wife Portia Charney's (Embeth Davidtz) death bed.

This movie has a lot of on the top philosophy, but I wasn't sure if the phonograph had any significances; and since 4chan has no philosophy board and I'm not in school to discuss this with my philosophy class i went to the next most relevant place. Thank you and I can not wait to hear your opinions.
