I saw Fight Club several years ago around the same time I saw Bergman's Persona. I found them similar in some way but I found the latter vastly superior. Granted, I liked Fight Club at the time because my parents prevented me from seeing it at the time, so I derived a sort of pleasure from secretly seeing it. Incidentally, my parents were really arbitrary about the films they did or didn't allow me to see. For instance, they wouldn't let my watch The Last Temptation of Christ (or anything Scorsese for some reason), but my father gladly showed my The Godfather movies. In any case, I still watched all the movies that they wouldn't let me see by getting them from the library.
Pre 9-11 terrorist training videos like: The matrix, boys2men and Fight Club are bad and you should feel bad for having fun from watching them.

It needs more straight pornographic sequences like Clockwork Orange had. At least they understood why nude gay fighters [who control the church] are bad news.

FC is an existential bit of jackoffery that I find hits every nerve in my body. There is no thinking man that does not at least get what Pahlaniuk (author) is trying to say.

Most people who are brainwashed from this film drink a lot of Starbucks brand coffee and they don't understand why. What they don't know is that their coffee logo is in every scene that doesn't have a penis in it.
