It's a mediocre overhyped show with annoying characters I can't stand.

The clips of him doing standup are positively painful to watch. They are never, ever, even remotely funny. Jerry Seinfeld is not a funny comedian. What he IS remarkably good at is convincing people that his humor is sophisticated, and everybody wants to feel sophisticated, so they laugh along, and they even convince themselves that they're laughing because they truly find the humor amusing. In some cynical way maybe that makes him an excellent comedian. Not to me, though.

As for the show as a whole, it's just a bunch of obnoxious self-centered twits being obnoxious self centered twits. There's very little variation in the way they interact, and the plot twists that are supposed to be funny range from predictable to inane, with a few in the middle occasionally hitting the mark.

"Seinfeld"'s "humor" seems to me like the "NO SOAP! RADIO!" prank little kids pull on each other, except this time, millions of people have been convinced the joke is funny. "The Simpsons" I can kind of understand people still finding funny, out of inertia, because during the 90s it truly was very clever. "Seinfeld", on the other hand, could never jump the shark, because the show was never really that funny to begin with.

What shows do you think are funny?
Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly?

Yeah quite old but still funny, Kramer is great

Quite old? I have trouble thinking of Seinfeld as old. If it's newer than Cheers it's not old.

Seinfield is, like, the epitome of sitcoms. A whole show about nothing in particular.

Too bad the DVD sets are sold at disgusting profit margins

Name: Anonymous 2006-06-08 3:37

You see kid, you're being bamboozaled. These capatalist fat cats are inflating the profit margin and reducing your total number of DVD sets.

Don't change these.
