Where will YOU be?

Go back in time one year in time and watch the Simpsons movie.

They were all describing this as such a groundbreaking announcement, although you'd have to have been living under a rock to not have heard about this years ago (except for maybe the exact release date).

I can see the R rating, but a 10 year old getting laid? eh, I dont see it happening. Also hopefully they dont start droping swears left and right just because they can.

They already had the episode where Bart becomes chief justice and Lisa becomes president.  It'll be the same, only in their early teens, which will look even odder than Bart and Lisa as adults.  Just imagine them with gangly arms and legs and cracking or slightly lowered voices trying to make jokes without sounding like little kids even though they still are inside.

My guess is Bart will smoke pot and offend millions.

One would assume it's an hour and a half of pure comedy goodness, but cartoon to movie adaptations rarely are.  Chances are it will have a typical movie plot structure, an antagonist of some kind, and a lot of slow moments that are supposed to be sad or dramatic. 

Look the the Power Puff girls movie- it tried to be serious and had these long drawn out moments of drama.  I mean this is the Power Puff girls.  I expect nothing different of this movie.

agreed, the arcade game would have made a good 'special' fakey non-canon episode or two, like debut it during a scifi con or something.

well, this is fun to look back on!
>>6 got it about right, no attempt at major comedy or even meaningful plot, instead we got the importance of family, some really dodgy lisa subplot and barely any mister burns, who was replaced with some shameless satire involving arnold schwartenegger as president. no attempt to take anything out of the series' comfort zone either; no age difference, no character development, no different points of view, just an hour and a half eopisode of mediocrity. and speaking of slow moments for drama, just wait until your future selves see the movie, because there is not enough room or time to talk about it all.
oh, and it's all environmental. yep.
