Syriana: How to make two hours boring.

This movie fucking sucked. I had high hopes for it.

The movie consists of a few subplots:

- Some black guy rising in rank in a power struggle. The actor has one facial expresion through the whole movie. No kidding.
- Two princes battling to get in control of oil.
- Matt Damon doing things for totally unknown reasons.
- George Clooney doing the same.
- Oil companies. Lol, current events.

None of these plots come together until the very end, and when they do it's wholly unsatisfying.

It does have a toe-curling torture scene with Clooney getting his fingernails ripped out with pliers. Apparently most of the moviegoers weren't expecting that and that's when several of them left. Anyway, that was the highlight of the film, just because SOMETHING was happening.

Because so much time is split between the subplots you aren't terribly interested in any of them, let alone the characters. So it ends up being quite boring.

Save your cash and see something else.

I would agree with you on most of those points.  However, I still enjoyed it.

I can't believe the density of people. Just beacuse it's not a point A to point B action movie you can't hold your interest.
