David Lynch's movies rely heavily on his technique.

Stanley Kubrick is also famous for incorporating his photographer's essence into his movies. I think The Shining is the best example of this.

Darren Aronofsky's "Pi" for an incredible B/W experience.

While not very well-recognized for it, American Psycho is one the most beautiful movies you'll ever see in terms of lighting and ambiance.

For being REALLY REALLY old, Metropolis had some really good cinematography for it's time.

And while we're at it, we should be careful when we list the director when talking about cinematography. Unless you're completely sure the director was in complete charge of the cinematography, you might be taking away the thunder of the man who really framed the shot.
