One thing I never got....

With the re-release of the ghostbusters dvds, Ive been watching them alot.

Ive been wondering....Just how did they get clearance for using a siren? I'm just assuming maybe its a warning, but are they allowed to cut threw traffic like with cops?

Well, they're a private corporation based on paranormal pseudoscience, so they probably violate more than one city code just by existing.  I guess the mayor was either forgiving or preoccupied back then.

I thought that the storyline had them working for the city and that the big militant chief pig was like "ERRGH YOU NERDS GHOSTS DONT EXIST IM ARRESTING YOU" and then his grandmother sat on his lap and everyone laughed.
