Seinfeld Question - "The Deal"

Name: Anonymous 2005-07-19 0:43

I just watched the episode of Seinfeld called "The Deal, where Jerry & Elaine start having sex again while trying to stay friends.  They want to have "the this" (friendly discourse) and "the that" (sexual intercourse).  Eventually they decide they need to have "the other" (relationship) as well.  But I noticed this time that they actually stay together at the end of the episode! O.o Do they ever mention this again, or are we just supposed to assume that they broke up some time in between this episode and the next one?

Seinfeld is to continuity what porn is to acting.

The Deal was at the end of a season.

So, yeah.

Yeah, they explained that on the DVDs.  They realized when they wrote it they were still together, so they put it at the end of the season, and the first ep of the next season explains they broke up rather quickly again.

That's stupid, you should watch the series in sequence. Every relationship Jerry, Elaine, or George has, and every story arc in general, gets resolved (like >>6 said, usually it's mentioned in passing in the beginning of the next episode)
