lol, whenever i see a commercail for another one of their generic movies, they are always so proud of it. "A sci-fi original feature", "network premier of..." Way to go guys, you are kings of generic crap

I liked it better when they showed anything made before 1970

Name: Anonymous 2005-06-30 22:30

You really have to wonder who's watching those movies.  Are the network execs looking at the ratings and going "I just don't understand why this isn't popular!"  But at least there's some novelty value in the terrible quality of their movies... I mean, I laughed every time I heard the name "Mansquito".

they must buy like a dozen of these things for 10 dollars or something.  obviously they make more money off this than farscape.

HEY THERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT ARE SHOWN ON SCIFI THAT ARE GOOD. LIKE UMMMMMMMM......WELL, THE NEW BATTELSTAR GALACTICA IS PRETTY GOOD!

Farscape miniseries was pure suck.

Oh, and mansquito was produced in Eastern Europe. Hence, there is a good chance they bought it for $10.

But I think Sci-Fi channel needs more /d/. If it's wankable, it's not completley bad. I sometimes watch their series just to wank off to the quasi/d/ aspects.

I watched shark frenzy, hammerhead man or whatever, just because the shark looked like it was going to screw the woman.

But, the fat tub of lard that's supposed to be the hero shows up in time and kills it. Fucking gay.

"You're watching the Sci-Fi Channel.  It's old, it's tired, and it never gets any f___ing better."

The only thing Sci-Fi Originals are good for is airtime filler: they air usually when there's really nothing worth watching on any of the other channels, too.  I guess they figure that if you're going to suffer, it may as well have a sci-fi or horror theme to it.

BTW, I consider >>12's remark offensive and unfair to B-movies everywhere.  ;)

Name: Anonymous 2005-09-12 6:27

BUT! BUT! SCI FI CHANNEL HAS ALIENS RAPING CHICKS! THAT MEANS IT"S AUTOMATICALLY NOT PURE SUCK!

Name: Anonymous 2005-09-12 15:09

You all forget that SciFi had a Bruce Campbell-athon on saturday.

Tornado, Termnal Invasion, Army of Darkness, Alien Apocalypse, Man with the Screaming Brain

Name: Anonymous 2005-09-16 16:44

Aw I missed the Bruce Cambell-athon :( :(

Hey about all the B-Movies they made, think when they are done they will spend another couple million to produce MST3K shows making fun of the stuff they just cranked out? Best way for them to spend money IMHO.

 NO JOEL, NO MST3k.
KNOW JOEL, KNOW MST3k.

Name: Anonymous 2005-11-07 20:19

Was "Man with the Screaming Brain" any good? Looked interesting. Sci-fi needs to do less horror and more, you know, science fiction.

Name: Anonymous 2005-11-16 0:53

Well I think I would have to sum it up as this...

First of all Sci-fi is effectively using the buckshot approach to making a good movie.  They make so many and just spray them out there, sooner or later on will be a hit.

Second point, you have to consider the amount of money that goes into the Sci-fi movies.  It isn't exactly an impressive budget, but what is impressive is what they manage to pull off on such a short budget.

Third point...Well hey, at least they are making up new movies frequently enough to keep me interested.  Besides that, I actually find I enjoy some of the Sci-fi originals.

their shows are extremely good despite the movies failing
Farscape (you will be missed)
stargate
rescue of original firefly episodes (yeah i know it doesnt count)
Batlle star galactica
