Now, is it just me, or does this movie fucking own? I loved Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, and ADORED The Royal Tenenbaums, and he really didn't let me down with this. I saw it in theatres, and of course, bought the 2-disc collectors edition recently. Bill Murray is like a fine wine...with age, he as become so much better. I think Owen Wilson looks a little stupid, but meh, his character is very lovable and heartbreaking at the same time.

The "attack squad" rescue scene at the abandoned hotel was amongst the best things I've ever seen in a movie :D

Hmm I saw it the other day... I was expecting it to be hilarious like The Royal Tenenbaums, but instead it just came off sort of weird. I just couldn't get into it I guess. =X

I gotta agree with the >>1, it was an amazing movie. It felt like it was worthwhile to spend 2 hours of my life to view. I mean, a lot of movies are fun & relaxing, but beyond that they're kind of a waste of life. It just had a lot of content - humorous, emotional, and even philosophical, without outright saying much of anything. It's wierd how Bill Murray can do so many different styles of humor without really varying his style very much. He's the king of deadpan.

was too slow for me, the plot was moronic and i didnt find it @ all funny. plus the actors werent all that great either in this one.

I really enjoyed it, aside from the huge Wes Anderson Complains About His Career section, which was just a tad bit self-indulgent for me.

this was a fantastic movie... one of the few movies where I really felt like it was time well spent to watch it and that I got something out of it other than just relaxation.

Great cast, great scenography, great photography, great soundtrack... The only thing this movie lacks is a f**ing plot.
It could have been a masterpiece, but actually it looks to me like bullshit.

It seemed to me like Wes Anderson was re-using a lot of themes from his previous movie. A "family" came apart long ago and a father has to bring it back together. I still like anything that Anderson does, I just somehow expected more.

I can't get enough of this movie! Wes Anderson is brilliant, as is the entire cast. Anyone who's bashing it for "not having a plot" or being boring just doesn't appreciate Anderson's quirky and intelligent humor.
