Oh you bet your ass it does. A chick with two katanas and swastika throwing stars? Win.

The film looks interesting from a visual standpoint, but the snippets of it I've seen in interviews and previews make it sound corny as hell.

"Aw...  You done went and done the dumbest thing in your life."

Ugh.  I mean basically we've got a film based on comics produced as a reaction to resurgence in interest in the pulps due to Quentin Tarantino's brand of "neo noir".  It's a copy of a copy of a copy.

I don't have TV, so I am completely oblivious to these commercials. All things Sin City that I've seen really amount to the trailer and a teaser. And I've only seen those once.

Of course, the concept sounds awesome and I am looking for the original comics.

Holy crap!  I expected it to try and seem like the comic, but hell, it WAS the comic.  Panel for panel, like they used it for storyboarding.  I just wonder what people who haven't read the comics will think.  I'm just glad they didn't change everything like Daredevil.  It's also the first time I've seen special effects intentionally look unrealistic and outdated, as if it were made in the black and white era.

This is true, I saw the movie and it is, just like the comicbook.

Jesus Christ, that movie was fucking incredible.

I am going to go home next weekend with the sole goal of bringing my best friend to go see it if he hasn't already.

I think they did use the comics for storyboarding...

Sin City is fantastic. As someone who never read the comic book I can say it was very enjoyable.

The violence is extreme, but in a comic book sort of 'over the top' way. Mostly it's used to kill somebody the movie sets the viewer up to hate in a satisfying way (especially the Yellow Bastard)

There are many minor characters that are interesting and well played, but you don't get a whole lot of background story. Maybe the sequels will fix that. I wouldn't mind having more of Gail and Becky in a future film. ;-)

A friend and I debate that the unusual brightness they get on some white objects like Marv's bandages are due to a UV light, not a computer effect. Does anyone actually know?
