I was just wondering what americans thought about censoring on your TV channels, for example the censoring of nudity and profanity. And what do you think about the high acceptance of voilence? In my country there are not much censoring, it is just based on the time of the day, for example after ten in the evening pretty much everything is allowed. This is only applies to voilence and sexual nudity though, non-sexual nudity and profanity is allowed any time of the day.
What do you americans think (or people from other countries with similar censorship) about this? Whould you rather have a more relaxed censorship?

Absolutely. Americans are too uptight about sex, nudity, and language. You can find a number of people who go so far as to say, "I don't want my children to know about sex, so I don't want it on television!" It's the all-too-common problem of people trying to push away the problem or issue so they don't have to deal with it instead of actually finding a solution. The vast majority of the rest of the world can handle a boob or cuss without crapping their pants. Such things have their place on television and the world. In any case, the whole idea of terrestrial broadcast "permiating into everybody's home" is silly. Turn off the damn TV if you don't like what you see. It's not the government's job to hold your hand and take care of your problems for you.
That being said, some sort of cencorship is needed, useful, and important. I would wish broadcasters would perform self-sensorship, using their good jugdement on what is acceptable and what is not. In fact, most cable channels do this. You can curse and show as much skin (outright porn would probably still be illegal, though) on cable as you want. (How many times did they say "shit" on that one episode of South Park? 300?)

162, I think. But it's okay if it's satire. :)

Censorship sucks, but I don't really care. If you want to see sex get on the Internet. Cable movie channels keep the sex and nudity in films, and I don't see why a TV show would need to show sex anyway.
