It definitely had the enormous WHAT THE FUCK with the enormous metal lightning symbol appearing out of nowhere, and the random snowstorm, and that one Shinzou Ningen who was carrying a baby (where the fuck did that thing come from, anyway? JUST HOW LONG WERE THEY WANDERING THROUGH THAT FROZEN WASTE?). Not to mention the random completely abandoned castle with a fully-functional mechanical army housed within.
Utada-chan's husband also seemed to love using:
1) The Dramatic Mute Button While Someone Screams In Defiance Of Nature / Enemy / God
2) The Dramatic Slow Motion And Mute Button While Someone Screams In Defiance Of Nature / Enemy / God
3) Lensflares, overexposures, film-scratches, glaring lights, and motion blur
4) he had a lot of incredibly fast cuts and shaking cameras
5) ALL THE FUCING PARTICLE EFFECTS
On the other hand, the core graphics work was fucking beautiful. It was just the editing and post-processing that sucked ass. He should stick to making music videos for his wife.
I didn't even know she HAD a husband until I heard about this movie. And to think I spent $60 to have it preordered and brought over here. I'll probably watch it again at some point if I'm bored.

Yeah, a lot of the movie seemed to have a lot of shit pulled out of thin air.
It was okay as a whole, but not as grand as the trailer made it out to be. I wouldn't spend that much on a DVD of it.
I was unaware he was Hikaru Utada's husband until now though.
Actually the DVD itself was 40 -- it was the ULTIMATE EDITION and had English subtitles and two extra discs full of supplemental materials I haven't watched yet.
The shipping however was between $15-20, since this was rush shipping.

Spoilers.
There were a lot of what the fuck moments but I thought the baby the woman was carrying was the child that white hair guy had before he was killed. They all had fragment memories of each other so the baby was important to each of them but they couldn't tell why. The ligtning rod needs to be fucking explained though.
On the flip side, the OST was pretty good.

well the lightning rod is like the reincarnation after the destruction of some other world... remember at the end how Casshern and Luna(Lena, whatever her name is) disappear into some kinda light thingy... and they go fly through space and strike another world?
god i can't talk but someone might get what i am trying to say.
it's a reincarnation thing... remember the old doctor saying something about Casshern being the spirit of hope or something?

Yeah I remember that, and the moment I saw that lightning bolt strike the other planet (thus being the seed of life? There are theories saying that life on this planet came from seeds spread by other civilizations) I said "Oohhhhhhh. THAT'S what it meant."
Too bad it was the very last friggin scene of the film, and he had to do it with the mute button on (at that point I was done nitpicking his choices cause I knew what they were going to be)
I found the OST before the movie, and that was partly why I had looked forward to the movie. The OST is really good. You know what battle song they keep playing? (For example, when the robot army swarms into town and the fight break outs) It sounds much better with lyrics and not as an infinite loop of the same segment.

It's not that people aren't patient; the makers were just lazy. Too lazy to make a coherent storyline.
I'll see it for a few copies to get the torrent going. You should be able to leech a copy before it dies.
The torrent lists 4tracker as an alternate tracker but I couldn't get 4tracker to accept the torrent. HF is still down and torrentz.info isn't sending me the confirmation email. So if HentaiGroup kills the torrent for being non-hentai, I don't know where else to track the torrent.
I always thought the lightning bolt came from the statue. In the beginning you see a huge statue holding a lightning bolt, and later, you notice his arms have broken off.

My thought on the bolt was that it traveled from planet to planet making life.

No. The bolt is the realization of the WILL of Casshern god.
Winged god of Casshern was the guardian of 7th district people. When Brai died unreasoningly, the god brought him back into life. See the opening sequence. You see the god has Brai's face. That means Brai and the god of Casshern are the same being.
When Tetsuya sees the bloodshed of 7th district, he considers he is the agent of the god and named himself Casshern.
But later, he finds that who massacred 7th district people was Tetsuya himself. The truth is, he is not of Casshern at all, but is who killed Casshern's people. The true Casshern was Brai.
But the god is plenteous in mercy. When Brai, Midori and all other people except Tetsuya and Luna die, he gives last hope to both of them. RESTART YOUR LIFE IN THE NEW WORLD. Don't make the same mistake. The last bolt is the last will of the god of Casshern.
Your English is not horrible. I could understand you perfectly.
Thank you for your insights! I will watch the movie again, and try to observe what you said.

At first glance, you may naturally think Tetsuya is justice and Brai is evil.
But when you watch the film second time, you should change your viewpoint, i.e. Tetsuya is evil and Brai is justice.
At the oldest point of the film's timeline, the Original Humans were spending happy days.
Brai had a baby, Barashin were studying medicine, Sagray patted the dog Friender, Akubone loved music.
But the happy days were destroyed by Human's force UNREASONINGLY.
Don't forget: Tetsuya was WILLING to go to the war. And he killed Brai's wife.
The fact shows the reverse of justice and evil.
When you watch the film third time, you should realize thare's no justice or evil in war.
The true evil is "hatred", and the true justice is forgiveness.
By the way, solving two misteries is the key to understand the story.
First: After the deadly duel of Tetsuya and Barashin, why Tetsuya was transported to the lab? And why Brai was waiting there?
Second: All the Brai's men saw the illusion of paradice when they faced death. Why Brai didn't see anything when he died?
