File Transfer?

Hey, /tech/. I'm not tech savy in the slightest, so I need a bit of help.
Short version of the story: Laptop is fubar, got new one, need to transfer files fast. It seems like my best option for it is to use an online backup service and then just download it again, but that seems like it would take fucking ages.
Could you recommend a cloud storage service that can take ~500GB for cheap, or else provide a decent alternative?
