can't access HDD on windows 7

Name: Anonymous 2013-04-19 2:56

Hello. I have recently formatted my computer and it's on the 20gb partition of one hard drive

the 500gb drive is one drive, no partitions. I  had the whole drive and also the second partition blocked from the guest account accessing it.

now I can't access the hard drive at all...

I will try any suggestions as long as they are legit and not trolling and report how they worked.

Rewrite everything and give the drives names instead of just "drive".

From what in understand however, you used windows's shitty software which only allowed an old account that you no longer have, to have access to your secondary hard drive?

If so, because you're an idiot, you most likely won't be able to access it from the operating system again.

My solution is:

1. Find a spare hard drive equal or greater to that 500gb one.
2. Boot into a Linux LiveCD and copy everything from the 500gb drive to the spare one.
3. Reformat the 500gb one.
4. Copy files from the spare back onto the 500gb.
5. Stop being a fucking idiot and use encryption if you don't want people to access your files.

Don't change these.
