I can't install an os onto my home built pc

windows seven freezes on the first install screen

linux mint returns "unable to find a medium containing a live file system"

and xp bsod after loading with the stop code: 0X0000007B (0xF78d2524,0XC0000034,0X00000000, 0X00000000)

all were burned on dvd+rdl and i'm wondering if rdl dvds could causer issues with os installation

After trying different options in the bios i can no long use the bios due to the usb keyboard not being recognized

Is there a way to access the bios without a keyboard?

You can always reset the CMOS to regain keyboard access. Check your motherboard's manual for the procedure to reset it. Generally, it involves powering the system down, unplugging it from AC power, and moving the CLR CMOS or similar jumper from one position to another for a few seconds.

As for the installation problems, I've never tried to use Dual Layer discs for installation, so I don't know.

But you can always just USB boot instead. You'll need a USB flash drive, and if you want to do Windows that way, you can use the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool- http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

For Mint, you can use its ISO and any of the various utilities out there. I usually have the most luck with LinuxLive- http://www.linuxliveusb.com/

Gonna hi-jack your thread.

I recently turned off my computer by accident with the emergency shut off switch in the back.

No my computer takes forever to load Windows and the computer is now slow as hell. Defragged and chkdsk and nothing has been detected.

Don't change these.
