Three monitors..?

Name: Anonymous 2013-01-16 16:07

Here's the thing, I want to have three monitors. I have an AMD video card, which has an HDMI, VGA and DVI. It detects the HDMI and VGA screen, but not the DVI one. I have a DVI to VGA converter in the slot, to the monitor. I have two monitors connected currently in the HDMI and VGA, working awesomely.
AMD Radeon HD 6460. Windows 7

Most consumer level video cards do not run more than 2 monitors. You can install another video card if you have an extra PCI or PCI E slot for a 3rd or 4th monitor.

It might be the converter

In this case that might actually work. Gnome or KDE would probably auto-configure that shit for you, too. I think xrandr or twinview could set that up if it doesn't.

I don't know much about GPU's and graphics cards and whatnot, but one of my friends has six monitors (Fucking. Stupid.) with only two cards, Nvidia and ATI respectively. He also suffers from Ubuntardation. One of the cards has two DVI and two VGA, while the other has one of each.
