Help: ruTorrent setup via Lighttpd

Name: c_k 2012-07-13 14:39

So, I paid for a seedbox from a company who shall remain nameless.  It suddenly stopped working, and their support has been completely worthless (no response to all support tickets in 7 days or so).

However, I have SSH access to the box so I am hoping I can fix it myself. The box is up, I can SSH in. Also, I can connect to the rutorrent webUI but I get 500 error in the logging pane (the UI does come up though).

Rtorrent is running on the box, I can see that via the ps command. Additionally, torrents I were seeding before it broke still seem to be uploading (from what I see connecting to the tracker sites themselves), so it seems it is a web server problem.

The box is using lighttpd for it's web server. I looked at the logs and here is the error I found:

(mod_fastcgi.c.1732) connect failed: Connection refused on unix:/etc/phpcgi/php-cgi.socket
(mod_fastcgi.c.3025) backend died; we'll disable it for 1 seconds and send the request to another backend instead: reconnects: 0 load: 1
(mod_fastcgi.c.3595) all handlers for /rutorrent/php/getsettings.php? on .php are down.
(mod_fastcgi.c.2852) fcgi-server re-enabled: unix:/etc/phpcgi/php-cgi.socket

So the problem has something to do with the fcgi module or with how PHP is working on the web server. Does anyone with some lighttpd or rutorrent experience want to help me try and figure this out?

Thanks!

Don't change these.
