Vision for a new technology

Hello all. I have been thinking about working on developing a database that can eventually be integrated with other services, like Wikipedia, Wolfram Alpha, and a Siri-equivalent, to automatically populate itself, perform computations, and interface with humans to do any number of things.

I'm going to copypasta some of it here, but I've uploaded a document to Scribd with the full details. see http://www.scribd.com/doc/99745030/Proposal for the graphics and stuff.

This is the first time I've posted any of this online before. I paid some guy $200 a couple years ago to help me create the database based on an early version of this proposal. Stupid me. I never heard from him again, I got pissed, said fuck it, and just started working on this again. This time, I'd love to hear others' opinions on the concept, its feasibility, and how it might be implemented before I drop any more cash on this.

I'd love your input and bumps. Thanks in advance /g/uys.

Objectives: to create a brain-emulating knowledge database after the fashion of a semantic network that reflects a more holistic ontology than the current reductionist scientific paradigm; to distribute the burden of growing and teaching the brain across the internet, harnessing the power of human contributors and existing service providers; and to make the information contained in each neuron, as well as in the brain as a whole, free to all who desire it, to use however they want to.
Ultimately, the brain may serve only as a stepping point for other projects, as a brain without a nervous system remains an isolated solipsist. Connectivity with other projects like Wikipedia and Wolfram Alpha would offer preexisting databases of knowledge and computational ability, and the addition of language parsing bots and text-to-speech human-computer interfaces might allow the brain to achieve an unmatched level of artificial intelligence. Eventually, the system should become automatic in everything it does.

The idea: the project is for, as the objective states, creating a brain-emulating knowledge database that can be treated like another person. This database will function on several principles:

1.    Create a new model for understanding phenomena and discrete facts—a holistic model that in its very structure acknowledges the interconnectedness of life

2.    Create and expand a database of information allowing the emulation of brain activity by tracing information (an electrochemical signal) down a synapsed pathway (nodal path) to reach a memory (terminal node)

3.    Make the database and its information available to the body of internet users via an easy-to-use, simple graphical user interface that visually displays the connections between each node (neuron) and the relative strength of the connection

4.    Develop interfaces (central nervous system) between existing internet-based services (appendages, sense organs, etc.) that can perform additional functions for and from the database. These services may include text-speech translation, language parsing, language translation, mathematical computation, data parsing and organization, human-computer interfacing, CPU/GPU processing, and eventually hosting the entire system, and other services.

5.    Make every aspect of the system run automatically and without human intervention; develop automatic error-correcting mechanisms; create parameters to help the system automatically detect useful services and knowledge to integrate into it; create parameters for the system to develop new parameters for detecting and integrating useful services and knowledge.

6.    Remain imaginative. Life is more complex than the human perspective alone can comprehend. A human body (the holistic system created by the integrated brain/network and body/services) may manipulate its environment with arms and communicate via spoken language, but a cephalopod manipulates its environment with tentacles and will change its body colors to communicate. To see where the human (computer) can go next, you have to think outside the box, and outside your existing physical and mental constraints. Life builds on itself—let this be the first step on a long flight of stairs to the heavens and other destinations unknown.

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

It's harder than you think, and people who actually could contribute are making huge money at scientific institutions/startups.

So, there won't be a significant number of contributors, and OP can't finance it.

Geez, the sheer amount of ideas I hear all day which would be cool, but there is no profit in it and thus they'll get no funding.
