has anyone else had to deal with this issue? i've tried all the standard procedures (malwarebytes, rkill, tdsskiller, etc etc) with no luck. everything i click or search or do online is re-directing to a random phishing, phony site. it's driving me mad. i'm scared of using combofix for fear of losing all of my important projects and it not actually being resolved. i hadn't downloaded anything in forever or been surfing any seedy websites so it's really come on suddenly. it's even beginning to affect facebook. i am completely at a loss. suggestions for this computer illiterate? they'd be much appreciated.

A boot time scan would be an option. And if you can't get it back up, clean install and put your shit back

I had a website dedicated to fucking that virus over. Go back 2 years and I can help you.

Malwarebytes killed the redirect virus on my friend's PC. Worked perfectly, first time. SuperAntiSpyware found it, but only was able to sever the limbs. MBAM nuked the head.

Check your DNS settings. It's common for viruses to redirect your web requests by replacing your DNS with dodgy values. Also check your host file for any added junk. Thirdly, run a hardy rootkit app. Best way is to remove your HDD and scan it as a slave drive in a second PC.
