HP g7t

I have an HP g7t laptop. Someone sat on it and broke the left hinge. Being as broke as I am, my only option was to have my dad fix it. He's not a computer person, but he can repair about anything. There was nothing wrong with it except the fact that the plastic had broken and had completely seperated that corner, making using the laptop very annoying when opening or closing. Well, while fixing it, my father hit a wire running from in the laptop up through that hinge into the screen. Needless to say, my screen doesn't work now. My father could fix the wire, but would rather replace it since he doesn't know computers and he is the one that damaged the wire. Previously, my laptop worked fine. What I need to know is...Can anyone tell me what this wire is called? I'll admit I'm not exactly great with computers, I just need to know what part it is so I can get it replaced.
