hey guys

So I want to learn about basic electronics, basic stuff as in knowing when and what type of resistor to use and other basic circuit type things. Just wondering if any of you know of any good free e-books that would be a good idea for me to look at.

I found a book on ebay that looks alright but it costs $35 and paying for things like this in 2012....... it just doesn't feel right.

Anyway, if anyone out there can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Start with online resources? You don't have to buy a book to learn it.
Try
1. Course http://www.electronicstheory.com/COURSES/ELECTRONICS/cindex.htm
2. Course http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/
3. Online resources: http://forum.allaboutcircuits.com/showthread.php?t=9538

Depending on your location, you should be able to find online or physical stores that sell electronics components or kits so you can start playing around with real stuff. Scout around Radio Shack or something for components you like and buy them cheap online.
